    WHAT FOODS TO AVOID

    CANDYBy CANDYDecember 1, 2023No Comments4 Mins Read

Especially for the new year, people want to become more healthy. An easy way that also has a major impact is to change their nutrition plan. But first, you should check buffalo king and  what foods to avoid

    OUR LIST FOR YOU

    • Honey: All that glitters is not gold

Can honey go bad? Honey is a sweetener that should only be consumed in moderation. A honey sandwich with your coffee and the perfect day begins. After all, it’s healthy, right? Not really.

Honey does contain many nutrients and minerals: for example sodium, potassium, magnesium, calcium, iron, and some vitamins. But honey also contains a lot of sugar. More precisely, the liquid gold consists of around 40 percent fruit sugar (fructose) and around 30 percent grape sugar (glucose). These two simple sugars are no better than ordinary household sugar (sucrose) in terms of calories and their effects on blood sugar and body weight.

The nutrients in honey are no longer so important because: You would have to eat an unreasonable amount of honey (and therefore sugar) to cover your vitamin requirements with it, for example.

In some cases, honey is also diluted with cheap corn or sugar syrup; the nutrient content is lower here. If you buy honey, we recommend organic honey, preferably from local beekeepers.

We recommend instead: Wholemeal bread with homemade, vegan spreads. Or, if you want a sweet spread, try a homemade Nutella alternative or the best Nutella alternatives without palm oil.

    • ACE fruit juice drinks contain too much sugar

ACE juice is also an unhealthy food. ACE fruit juice drinks are among the unhealthiest foods. ACE fruit juice drinks promise an extra portion of vitamins for the immune system. Unfortunately, however, fruit juice drinks are rarely healthy: they contain a relatively high amount of sugar, which is why you should not drink them as a thirst quencher.

The fruit content in ACE fruit juice drinks is also often low. Instead, water, sweeteners, and vitamins are added (which is why they should no longer be called “juice”). Manufacturers like to add vitamins C, E, and provitamin A (beta-carotene). However, the benefits of such artificial vitamins for our body are also controversial – direct juices in organic quality are better.

    • protein and energy bars? Better legumes!

Real athletes don’t need energy and protein bars

Unhealthy food: Real athletes don’t need energy or protein bars. As a (hobby) athlete, you treat yourself to a protein or energy bar now and then. You think they give you strength and help you build muscle. The reality is that these bars are anything but healthy and contain hardly any natural ingredients. Instead, they are high in calories, highly processed, and contain added sugar, flavorings, and isolated vitamins and minerals.

Whether a protein bar is healthy depends primarily on its composition. This varies from manufacturer to manufacturer. However, many conventional protein bars contain high amounts of sugar as well as glucose syrup, fructose syrup, or inverted sugar syrup. They are therefore more like a sweet than a healthy snack.

Some protein bars are also sugar-free and sweetened with sweeteners or sugar substitutes (such as xylitol or erythritol). Exactly how these substances affect our bodies has not yet been conclusively clarified. However, according to experts, sweeteners in particular are associated with some negative health effects: they upset our feelings of satiety and hunger and are suspected of altering our intestinal flora and even our brain activity.

In addition, protein bars often contain added vitamins and minerals. According to experts, this is problematic – because people who eat a lot of protein bars and similar products each day can easily consume too high a dose of various nutrients. This can lead to health problems in the long term.
